Apple Pie Oatmeal

As the days grow shorter and the air carries a gentle chill, there's a certain magic that comes with the arrival of autumn. It's a season that beckons us to wrap ourselves in soft blankets and relish in the flavors that define this time of year.

Enter my cherished recipe for Apple Pie Oatmeal—a nod to the classic treat, but with a lighter touch. While traditional apple pie indulges in sugars, bleached flour, and butter, this version promises all the warmth and flavor without the fuss.

By blending the smoky sweetness of maple syrup, the hearty goodness of organic oats, and the comforting hint of cinnamon, we create a dish that not only captures the essence of autumn but also nourishes the soul!

Apple Pie Oatmeal

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup organic rolled oats

  • 2 cups water

  • 2 medium-sized fresh apples, diced

  • 3 tablespoons maple syrup

  • 1 teaspoon organic ground cinnamon

  • Optional toppings: sliced almonds, raisins, chocolate chips

Instructions:

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine the water and oats. Bring to a gentle boil, then cover and reduce heat to low. Let it simmer for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  2. Add the diced apples, maple syrup, and ground cinnamon to the saucepan. Continue to cook on low heat for another 5-7 minutes, or until the apples are tender and the oatmeal is creamy.

  3. Remove from heat and let it sit for a minute to cool slightly.

  4. Spoon the apple pie oatmeal into bowls. Top with your choice of sliced almonds, raisins, or your favorite garnishes!
