This is the kind of dessert that brings people together, whether it's for a cozy family gathering or a spontaneous treat-yourself moment. Whether you're a seasoned baker or just starting out, this recipe is practically fool-proof! So, preheat that oven, grab your favorite skillet, and let's embark on a journey of cookie perfection that will have you savoring every bite!

Classic Chocolate Chip Cookie Skillet

  • 1 cup butter, softened

  • 1 cup granulated sugar

  • 2 whole eggs

  • 2 tsp pure vanilla extract

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 2 tsp baking soda

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 1 1/2 cups chocolate chips

  • Optional toppings: vanilla ice cream, chocolate sauce, and sprinkles

1.Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 10-inch cast-iron skillet.

2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.

3. Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.

4. In another mixing bowl combine flour, salt, baking soda, and chocolate chips. Stir to coat the chocolate chips in flour thoroughly (this helps prevent them from sinking to the bottom of the batter and burning).

5. Add in half of the dry ingredients to the butter/egg/vanilla mixture and fold to combine.

6. Add in the remaining half of the dry ingredients and stir until flour is completely absorbed.

7. Spread out cookie batter in the greased cast iron pan skillet. (It's okay if it doesn't reach the edges; it will spread while baking)

8. Bake for 30-35 minutes, depending on your desired doneness.

9. Allow the cookie skillet to cool for a few minutes before serving. Top with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, a drizzle of chocolate sauce, and a sprinkle of your favorite toppings for an extra indulgent treat!

Pro Tips:

For a gooier center, slightly underbake the cookie skillet and let it rest for a few minutes after removing from the oven.

Experiment with different types of chocolate chips or add nuts for a unique twist!
